Last week I saw daffodils already popping up out of the ground as warmer weather and rain beckoned them to show themselves. Perhaps you are looking forward to the beginning of Daylight Savings this Sunday and the prospect of having more sunlight into the evening? I know I am!

WELCOME!

Lakeside’s new third grade teacher, Ms. Richelle Tieman, joins our faculty this week, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and a lifetime of experience in the field of education! There will be a Meet and Greet Wednesday from 2:45-3:15. Come in the third grade classroom and welcome Ms. Tieman to the LCA community of families and students.

We have a new Administrative Assistant/Registrar who will be starting on Wednesday! Audria Roberts is coming from the Charlotte/Mecklenburg school system and is already familiar with many of the programs and processes used to keep our office humming along. Please stop by the office and give Ms. Roberts a big LCA welcome!

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

Friday, March 20 is Parent/Teacher Conference Day, and YOU are invited! Please sign up for a conference time through your teacher. We are proud of our students’ progress and successes!

 

FLOWER POWER

• Let’s use the Power of Flowers to brighten up Lakeside’s campus! On Wednesday, March 18, bring in flowering plants we can plant around the grounds of LCA. We would also love donations of very large planters and garden decorations. Let’s have the outside of LCA’s building reflect the beauty of the students inside the building!

LAKESIDE COMMUNITY

• Lakeside’s Parent/Teacher Organization is hosting a Spring Fling Dance! Held in the LCA gym from 5:00-7:30pm on Friday, March 27, this event is sure to be the buzz of the school! There will be a DJ, Dancing, Games, Food, and lots of Fun! The Spring Fling Dance is open to all of Lakeside’s students, siblings, and family members. The cost is $5 per person, children and adults alike, paid in advance of the event. Please see the attached flyer and stay tuned for more details! Don’t miss out on the fun!

• Volunteers Needed! LCA’s daily, weekly, and monthly projects need many helping hands! Delivering lunches, putting up bulletin boards, reading with students, making copies for teachers, and other duties are all opportunities for you to make a difference at Lakeside. Please contact the front office to let us know of your interest.

NOW OFFERING BEFORE SCHOOL CARE!

You asked for it, we listened, and we made it happen! Before School Care at LCA is provided from 6:45-7:30am. Weekly cost is $35 for the first child, $30 for additional siblings. Please email Ms. Edwards at t.edwards@lakesidecharteracademy.com to register for a week at a time. No drop in service.

After School Care at LCA is provided from Dismissal until 5:30PM. Weekly cost is $60 for the first child, $45 for additional siblings. Please email Ms. Edwards at t.edwards@lakesidecharteracademy.com to register for a week at a time. No drop in service.

PICTURE DAY

Bring your best smile and say “Cheese!” Strawbridge Studios will be taking pictures on Tuesday,   March 17! The pictures will be both for individual and class groups. For the spring pictures, students may wear their choice of dressier, appropriate clothing. They may also choose to wear their regular uniform. Pictures will be taken first thing in the morning, so don’t be late! The order forms will be sent home from your teacher.
