We live in a diverse world with many unique cultures and life experiences. At Lakeside, we take pride in knowing our school is rich in diversity. Our K-8 students come from all walks of life and see themselves reflected across the curriculum and throughout the school. Our teachers, students and staff represent various backgrounds, and we are intentional in creating a multicultural learning environment at our free public school.

Diversity is a Strength

We have hosted many activities to support diversity and learning from different cultures throughout the years. For example, some of our holiday activities, in-classroom learning, and field trips explore ethnic foods, artwork, customs, and traditions worldwide. We believe in creating student-focused classroom cultures where respect for others is the core of our learning. Some of our teachers are bilingual, which helps students whose first language isn't English, too.

Lakeside students know that being different isn't a bad thing - it's what makes us unique! We believe diversity is a strength and our teachers work hard to make sure all students get the best possible learning experience regardless of ethnic background. We strive to bring multicultural learning into the classroom every day.
