No. Lakeside Charter Academy is a tuition-free public charter school authorized by the state of North Carolina. Unlike private schools, we do not limit enrollment and there is no entrance exam. As a charter school, LCA is open to all students who would otherwise qualify for enrollment in North Carolina Public Schools. Can a student be expelled from Lakeside due to poor academic performance?

No, Lakeside is committed to ensuring that every student receives an excellent education. Our small class size allows our teachers to give individualized attention to each student. We provide personalized learning that includes intensive enrichment and supplement support known as BEAR time.

We offer a multi-tiered system of support for all our students and specialized services for those with IEPs through our Exceptional Children’s program.
